- Outgoing - Must be comfortable talking to people in person.
- Articulate and Persuasive - Must be able to explain complicated political issues quickly.
- Stamina - Must be comfortable working outside, on your feet for a full day.
- Team Player - Must be able to handle constructive criticism and work with a group.
- Quick Study - An interest in current affairs is helpful. Must be willing to regularly review study materials and pass quizzes.
- 18+ with a valid government -issued ID.
- Working cell phone with a data plan.
- Must be willing to conduct a background check in accordance with local laws and regulations. This job is almost entirely outside. Must be comfortable working outdoors in all kinds of weather conditions.
- We often work 6 days a week. Overtime is available.

On large projects, yes! Your recruiter can give you more details during your orientation. Some smaller projects meet daily in the field.
We are looking for staff who can work a full day. Most assignments are full time (5-6 days per week). Individual schedules vary depending on the project.
Frequently Asked Questions (Traveling Teams)
Some assignments are 6 weeks. Others can last 4-5 months. Many of our travelers stay on the road moving from project to project for a year or more.
We stay in hotels in the districts we’re canvassing and petitioning. All staff must be willing to share a room with a roommate.
After orientation, AMT typically flies you there.
Team Leaders and Project Managers have a rental car. You must have a valid Driver’s License, Insurance and VERY clean driving record to qualify for these positions
Each assignment is different and weather dependent. You will receive a project checklist before you depart. However, bring weather appropriate clothes, comfortable shoes and socks, and hat.
